My first thought was...GREAT, opportunity to ski for less! Then after thinking about it, saving $40 each of the next two years is not much. The real question is how much will the 2011/2012 pass increase to? That's where the savings can really make a difference to pay up front now.

Take it one thought further...what inspired this TWO YEAR program? Why is it only two years? Does the mountain need the money that bad? Is something going to happen next year that we don't know about yet?

The rumor out there is that IntraWest may file bankruptcy and sell Mammoth Mountain to the son of Dave McCoy. HOLY MOLY if this is true!

No matter what happens, the timing is never good with tax season at the same time the pass payment is due so if my cash flow can absorb the extra cost then I will jump on the 2 year pass but if not then I will have to take my chances next year.
